Washingtonians are spoiled by their waterfront views. We have several gorgeous waterfronts including the Washington Harbor and the Anacostia Waterfront. And we just added one more to the list. The Wharf DC is the magnificent new waterfront destination in DC that everyone needs to visit.
The Wharf DC is a waterfront destination that has been a long time in the making. It recently launched its first phase after three years of construction.
The Wharf DC is a one mile stretch along the Southwest waterfront of the Potomac River. It's designed to be a mixed-used community area featuring restaurants, shops, entertainment, businesses and residential living spaces.
The Wharf DC recently opened in the beginning of October. Every Washingtonian should make a date to see this new waterfront destination, even though it is still in development.
The Wharf features several different areas including restaurants, cafes, shops and activities.
Foodies will love sampling different restaurants.
You can find any thing to fit your budget from upscale fine dining to casual cafes and laid back pubs. The Wharf has it all!
Between meals, you can stroll along Pearl Street, exploring the different shops and boutiques that are opening. Many are open now with more to open their doors in the future.
Water lovers can stroll out to one of The Wharf's four piers. District Pier is the biggest pier at The Wharf. This features a stage for live performances and the Dockmaster's Building.
On the Recreation Pier, you can play life sized games or catch The Wharf Jitney to East Potomac Park.
There's plenty of seating, lounge areas, waterfront views, free work out classes, boat slips and kayak spots all up and down the piers.
With so much to do and see, it's hard not to love this up and coming space in DC. The best part it, it is all just beginning for The Wharf DC!
