There are many different types of people from different types of life in Washington DC. We have different beliefs, backgrounds and political leanings. But when you live in DC, some habits and actions start to level the playing field between us. We may be different but no matter what, people from Washington DC will never do these 11 things.
1. Cheering for the Cowboys.
We have no idea why they’re called "America’s Team." Go Redskins.
2. Waiting in line at Georgetown cupcake.
If we go there, it’s because there is no line. We know we can go a few blocks down to Baked & Wired.
3. Having no opinion on an issue.
We will debate you on everything!
4. Driving passively.
We like to honk horns here and we won’t apologize for it.
5. Going out in the snow.
There’s a five percent chance of snow? We should just shut down and go home early.
6. Taking any type of tour.
You won’t find us on segways or on tour buses.
7. Using a paper Metro pass.
Who has time to keep buying Metro cards? SmarTrip pass is the only way to go.
8. Joining a protest.
We see them all the time and while we may applaud them, we really do not have the time to be joining in. We have things to do.
9. Standing on the left side of the escalator.
This is the most important rule in Washington.
10. Talking on the metro.
If you are loudly talking on the Metro, we know you don’t live here.
11. Going to a Wizards game.
Some people still think they are called the Washington Bullets.
We might not do these things but here are 10 ways you can always spot someone from Washington DC!
