Meridian Hill Park is a beautiful 12 acre historic park that was modeled after French gardens and Italian villas. There is a gorgeous cascading fountain, memorials, statues and beautiful landscaping.

Dumbarton Oaks is a historic estate hidden in Georgetown. The home has been transformed into a museum filled with Byzantine and Pre-Columbian art. Outside, the lawn is a 27 acre garden landscape with terraces, orchards, fountains and ponds.

Even though the Renwick has a prime location next to Lafayette Square, not many people actually visit it. The building was built in 1859 and features American craft and decorative arts from the 19th, 20th and 21st century.

Located in Northeast DC, Kenilworth Gardens is a lush tropical park filled with waterlilies and lotuses. There are more than 40 bird species and plenty of self guided trails. It’s an oasis in a hidden part of the city.

Dupont Underground is an abandoned trolley station that was abandoned in the 1960. Recently it has recently been redeveloped as an arts scene. They have rotating art exhibitions and visitors can stroll around the cool, dark tunnels.

The Capitol Grotto also known as the Summerhouse is a tiny grotto right next to the Capitol. It was built in the late 1800s to be a place of rest for weary travelers who visited the Capitol. Today, it’s a quiet spot just off the Mall that’s perfect for relaxing.
