It’s October so it’s time to bring on the spooky movies, terrifying haunted places and chilling ghost tours. In DC, we have no shortage of creepy things. There is one extraordinarily creepy bar that will definitely put you in the Halloween spirit. Pub Dread is the terrifying Halloween bar in DC you have to visit.
Pub Dread comes from the minds behind the Christmas Bar, Cherry Blossom Bar and The Game of Thrones Bar. It takes over Mockingbird Hill, Eat the Rich and Southern Efficiency.
Enter through the doors and you’ll step into the stuff of nightmares. Like most of the pop up bars in DC, there are several different rooms you can experience.
The Haunted Forest has yellow, green and orange glowing trees around the room and hanging from the ceiling. There are also of hanging ghouls and unsettling eyes watching you from every direction. There’s even a wall with a giant spider web.
Depending on your level of fear, you might not even want to go into The Dollhouse. In this room, you will find spooky dolls staring at you from their places lining the walls and dangling in the doorways.
If super scary isn’t your thing, you might feel more comfortable in the David Bowie-themed room. This room has sparkling disco balls hanging from the ceiling and multi-colored lit up lightning bolts along the walls.
Of course, the blood splattered menu feature Halloween themed drinks as well. Included on the drink menus are spooky libations like "Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!" "I See Dead People" and "Do You Like Scary Movies?"
