The One Bar In DC That Has Transformed Into A Game Of Thrones Wonderland

You know how much you can love your favorite TV show? You talk about it nonstop, debate about it and feel a little lost when it’s on hiatus? If you’re a Game of Thrones fan, then you understand the feeling of being obsessed with a show. Luckily for Washingtonians, they can experience Game of Thrones this summer in a brand new way a the latest pop up bar in Washington DC.
The bar is the brain child of the Drink Company who have transformed neighborhood bars in Shaw into themed bars such as Miracle on Seventh Street and the cherry blossom bar.
The bar is actually three bars: Mockingbird Hill, Southern Efficiency and Eat the Rich. But it’s been transformed into different parts of the Seven Kingdoms with every detail thought out, including the show’s soundtrack playing in the background and the bartenders in costume.
After waiting in the inevitable line, you’ll step into the Red Keep, where you can see the banners from the kingdom’s houses.
Then explore the Hall of Faces. The masks are plastered masks of the employees and friends and family of the bar.
Then drink under the Weirwood tree.
And don’t forget to reserve your spot on the Iron Throne. The bar will text you when it’s time for your spot to grab your photo!
It wouldn’t be a Game of Thrones bar without dragons and this bar has that too! The sculpture even blows smoke!
That’s not all! The drinks pay homage to the show as well and you can order The North Remembers, which is served in a mug made out of a horn or a tiki drink called The Lady Mormont. The bar also serves the Brewery Ommegang’s Game of Thrones beers on draft.
Game of Thrones fans will love every part of this bar! You can even dress up as your favorite character. Just be certain not to wait too long to visit! The Game of Thrones Pop-Up Bar is only open until August 27th.
The bar is located at 1839-1843 7th St NW, Monday through Thursday from 5pm to 12am and from 5pm to 1:30am on Fridays and Saturdays and Sunday from 1pm to 7pm.
