Your journey beings at Western Maryland Railway Station, which dates back to 1913.
You have several options of trains at Western Maryland Railway Station but the most popular train ride is the Mountain Limited which is leaves every day in October at 11:30 AM. Mountain Scenic Railroad also offers the Autumn Express railroad which drops passengers off for a scenic bike ride, an evening train, a murder mystery train and several holiday trains.
Once on board, the route takes you through the Allegheny Mountain, over iron truss bridges and through the 914 brush tunnel under Piney Mountain.
You have several seating options including coach, the lounge car and first class. There is also a snack bar on the train.
You will pass some of the most beautiful and peaceful parts of the countryside during your ride.
The train is slow enough to watch the sights and you have a 90 minute layover in the quaint town of Frostburg where you can grab lunch or shop.
