Homemade cooking is really something special. You just know that there’s something extra in it that makes it more memorable and even more delicious. Of course, not all of us are lucky enough to have the cooking gene or live near a family member who can cook really well. If you happen to ever crave grandma’s pasta though, you are in luck. Sfoglina in DC has the best pasta in DC and it just might rival Grandma’s!
Sfoglina opened in the Van Ness neighborhood in late 2016 and it has been winning over the hearts of pasta lovers ever since.
It's completely dedicated to the art of pasta. In fact the name "Sfoglina" in Italian refers to the woman who dedicates herself to the art of pasta making and rolling pasta dough by hand.
So, of course, the menu features hand-rolled pasta made in-house everyday
You can even see the pasta artisans rolling dough and making pasta through the windows.
And the outcome of that work does not disappoint. Served in pattern china, the pasta at Sfoglina is authentic and delicious.
If that wasn't enough to make you want to take a trip there, the decor should give you more of a reason. This bright and breezy restaurant feels like it's set right in the Mediterranean.
They even have a lovely patio complete with twinkle lights that's perfect for warm DC evenings.
We highly recommend the pasta while you're there of course. But if you're feeling low carb, they have other entrees and non-pasta items on their menu.
Sfoglina is open for brunch on the weekends too with a menu of pancakes, eggs and smoothies.
No matter when you go to Sfoglina, you will love the service, ambiance and you'll never forget the pasta!
Sfoglina is located at 4445 Connecticut Avenue Northwest . You can find directions, hours and menus on their website.
