DC has the kind of fall weather that makes you want to stay outside as long as you can. And with a variety of parks, gardens and green spaces, Washingtonians have plenty of options of places to soak up the fall weather. We found an out of the way beer garden that is absolutely perfect for a fall day.
Bardo is the perfect way to spend a beautiful fall afternoon in DC. It’s a sprawling brewery that serves up delicious beers in a great, open lot.
Once you enter through the gates, you’ll walk across wood chips and gravel to an open space There are more than 50 picnic tables and 750 seats spread out across the large area.
You'll find beautiful views of the Potomac River, and if it’s too hot or raining, there is space underneath the bridge with corn hole games.
Essentially, there is plenty of room for everyone to spread out and run around at Bardo, so it’s kid-friendly!
It is also pup-friendly, and there is even a separate leash-free dog park section where you can take your beers and let your pups run wild.
Bardo is right next to Nats Park so on game days, you’ll often find yourself in a sea of red-shirted baseball fans.
Bardo has a long list of unique craft beers. They also offer seasonal beers throughout the year.
There’s no food served at Bardo, but you can bring any food or you can call and have any food delivered to the bar so there’s nothing stopping you from having a full day outside, watching puppies and enjoying beers!
Bardo is located at 25 Potomac Avenue in Southeast. It’s a 10-minute walk from the Navy Yard Metro. Bard is open 5 p.m. on weekdays and 1 p.m. on weekends. On game days, they open two hours before the game starts.
