Looking for a great Vietnamese restaurant in Connecticut? Mecha Noodle Bar is sure to hit the spot! “Mecha” means “mom and pop” in Vietnamese, and it’s certainly an apt description for this local chain, because you’ll feel right at home here. Mecha Noodle Bar has five locations in Connecticut, and each specializes in Asian comfort food that will fill you up and let you experience a bit of culture to go along with your meal.
You'll find Mecha Noodle Bar in Fairfield, Norwalk, New Haven, Stamford, and West Hartford. There are also two locations in Massachusetts.
The restaurant's interior is classy, but not so upscale that it's stifling or uncomfortable. The servers are happy to assist if you have any questions about an item's ingredients or spice level.
A portion of each meal sold at Mecha Noodle Bar is donated to local charities. You can check out the flyer at the restaurant's tables to see which charity is chosen each month.
Asian American-inspired baos are available here as well. This dish is typically filled with pork, but at Mecha Noodle Bar, you can also get a vegetarian mushroom flavor or chicken.
There are plenty of add-ons to enjoy for both pho and ramen. If you find yourself with too much leftover broth at the end of your meal, the Kae-Dama system will allow you to order additional noodles to add to your broth.
