The adorable roadside attraction known as Frog Rock was first painted in 1881 by local state representative Thomas J. Thurber. During his travels he often passed the rock and thought it looked like a squatting frog.

Over the next century, the site became a stop for other travelers who stopped to rest and enjoy picnics.
In 2012, the rest stop was bought and refurbished by Joe Lernould. The rest stop flourished into more than just a place to stop for a rest and a picnic while on the road. Frog Rock became its own destination stop for tourists.

You can spend a full day here exploring the antique shop and gift shop, getting a bite to eat at the food truck, and enjoying some wind down time with family and friends.
Frog Rock has become a popular location for events. During the open season, you'll be able to find fun events ranging from car shows and motorcycle meetups to flea markets, and musical events.
