This Massive Outdoor Art Festival In Connecticut Spans More Than 2 Miles

The arrival of warm weather also brings the appearance of Connecticut’s festivals and fairs. Once summer hits there are at least a dozen events going on in any given weekend. So you really need to think about carving up your calendar now to accommodate all of these fun-filled activities. One event you definitely won’t want to miss is the two-mile art festival that stretches through downtown Mystic every year.
The Mystic Outdoor Art Festival is in its 82nd year and is the oldest of its kind in the Northeast. Drawing crowds of nearly 100,000 people, this festival features more than two miles of amazing art.
Mark your calendar now, the 2019 festival will take place on Saturday, August 10th from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sunday August 11th from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Enjoy the creativity of more than 230 artists from all over the United States.
This isn't just about captivating paintings, you'll also discover photographs, pastels, sculpture, woodwork, comics, acrylics, and more. The variety showcased is a massive display of talent.
Stroll the streets and encounter some of the artists creating new masterpieces right on the spot.
Bring the kids. The younger generation will have a blast at the Children's Art Park with face painting and hands-on arts and crafts.
There's plenty of time to do a little shopping. Pick up a gift or a little something to add to your own decor.
