We love Starbucks as much as the next person, but don’t you sometimes miss the little old-fashioned cafes that have largelybeen taken over by corporate ownership? Something about a locally-run coffee shop is special. We are lucky enough to still have quite a few locally-owned cafes in Connecticut, and one of the best is Espresso 59. Tucked away in the beautiful Litchfield Hills, this coffee shop features stellar hot and cold drinks, pastries, gelato, and more. Next time you need a quick sweet treat, stop by and check out their offerings!
From the outside, this cafe looks small and cute, with a typical New England charm about it. The Litchfield Hills region is perhaps the most underrated in Connecticut.
This area has so much natural beauty, so go take a hike and then come in Espresso 59 for a tasty pastry and cappuccino!
The gelato comes in a variety of flavors and has such a smooth texture. It's served at a higher temperature than ice cream, increasing the intensity of the flavors, and also has a much lower percentage of butterfat.
Whether you drink your coffee black or opt for milk-based mixes like lattes or cappuccinos, pairing your drink with a slice of cake or pie is a perfect choice.
