Spend Three Days At Three Beaches On This Weekend Road Trip In Connecticut
Got three days off and starting to feel infected by the travel bug? There’s nothing better than a Connecticut road trip to some of our best beaches. We’ve gathered up a three-day trip for you that will take you to some of the prettiest sandy lands in the Nutmeg State. Best of all, the drive is short and sweet, so you won’t waste a lot of time in the car and you won’t go through very much gas at all!

This is not a trip where you'll need to spend tons of time on the road stuck in traffic. You'll only have to drive about 36 miles, right around an hour. We recommend spending all day at the beach, grabbing a hotel or Airbnb for the night, and then waking up early the next morning to drive to your next stop. You can check out the full itinerary on Google Maps.

Ocean Beach, New London, CT 06320, USA
Ocean Beach Park is a beautiful resort destination in Mystic County. It's at the Atlantic Ocean, so it's far less rockier than many of the beaches in Connecticut that have Long Island Sound access.

There's a half-mile boardwalk and plenty of options for beachfront dining. The beach itself is a little small, but you'll find plenty of parking and lots of entertainment.

Harveys Beach, Old Saybrook, CT 06475, USA
Harveys Beach is not typically listed among Connecticut's must-see beaches, but we absolutely love this little beach in Old Saybrook. You'll find 100 yards of beautiful soft sand here.

The water is fairly shallow, so you'll have opportunities to walk through the surf and feel sand between your toes. The sunsets are magnificent!

Hammonasset Beach, Madison, CT 06443, USA
If you think bigger is better when it comes to beaches, then the third day of your weekend road trip in Connecticut will certainly be exciting! Hammonasset Beach State Park is the longest beach in Connecticut, with more than two miles of sandy shoreline.

Here, you'll even find a magical singing beach. It's tucked away at Meigs Point and features small shells that sound downright musical when the tide is changing.
These are some of our favorite beaches in the state, and visiting them in a three-day weekend is such a blast in the summer months! Share your ideal three-day Connecticut road trip in the comments.
