There's more than just discovering Connecticut's prehistoric past at this park. Cool off after traversing the incredible dinosaur filled walking trail or skip the dinos and head straight to the water. This neon stop lets you shoot water out of the mouth of T-Rex and includes an exploding water volcano.

You'd be hard pressed to find a list without Ocean Beach Park on it. This state beach also features a skate park, water slides, an Olympic pool and more, but my favorite part is the very spacious splash pad. It's easy to watch the little ones at this park, as it mostly features sprinklers and leaves pretty of room to maintain sight on your little one. You also get the added bonus of being able to pack a picnic and catch ocean views.

Ahoy mateys! Pirate Bay takes the splash pad to a whole new level with it's pirate themed-and shaped-playground. Lots of fountains, water squirrels and a huge dump bucket make this one a fan favorite. Even though it's just an inch or two, wading in to this pad means you're always cool.

There's more to this park than meets the eye. Known for being a great place to walk, there's not only a beautiful lighthouse, but there's also an antique carousel and a large splash pad. With sculpted palm trees that rain down on you, you're guaranteed to have fun here. Usually less crowded than its competitors, this is a great one for exploring with little ones. It's a calmer oceanfront experience than Ocean Beach Park, but it's still tons of fun.
