The holidays are fast approaching, and it’s time to bake cookies, buy and wrap gifts, and sing some carols. While you’re at it, you might want to put on a Santa suit and run 2.5 miles for a charitable cause. You still have time to register for Run For A Claus:
It's a sea of Santas at the Run For A Claus 2.5 mile race in New London this holiday season.
The race takes place on Sunday, December 15, 2019, and hundreds of people will be there to participate for charity. The Hartford Marathon Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises over $500,000 annually for local charities.
You can also pick up your Santa suit at various locations several days before the race.

You're highly encouraged to bedazzle your Santa suit in the most creative way possible. Prizes will be awarded for the most festive adult and child Santa suit.
You can come by yourself, but it's even more fun if you bring a bunch of your friends, family, or co-workers along. Everyone loves to get into the holiday spirit during this race...
...and it's always a good idea to have someone else to encourage you and cheer you on. You'll also have plenty of race support from volunteer race monitors, a medical staff, and New London police officers.
There are lots of different divisions for all kinds of age groups, and awards in every division and category. The fastest overall record for men is 13:45, set by Michael Vesci, and for women it's 16:22, set by Katie France. See if you can beat their times!
Want to be involved this year, but you don't want to run 2.5 miles? There are plenty of other great volunteer opportunities available. Visit the Hartford Marathon Foundation's website to see how you can help.
