We’re all about family-friendly vacations at Only In Connecticut. We love whimsical attractions that delight both the kids and adults in a family. However, we also know that sometimes, everybody wants a break from the family. Maybe you need a short, adults-only getaway? Just a little time to rest and recharge. We’ve got the perfect spot for you to do just that. Next time you need a little peace and quiet, how amazing does a hotel at a winery sound? You’ll definitely want to check out the beautiful Hopkins Inn. It’s part of an inn/restaurant/winery combination that has been delighting travelers for years.
Even all on its own, the Hopkins Inn is amazing. The eleven-room inn has been open since 1847.
The inn overlooks Lake Waramaug. It's just a few miles from Lake Tom State Park, and there are plenty of nearby hiking trails if you'd like to get out and explore.
The seasonal restaurant that's right on site serves up delicious German and Austrian food. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all available here, and the lake views from the patio are incredible.
Just across the street from the Hopkins Inn is the wonderful Hopkins Vineyard. The lake and nearby hills make for an unusual microclimate that allows unique varieties of grapes to grow here.
The winery offers tours and tastings throughout the year. The wine bar is located up in the hayloft of the property's historic barn, and you'll have great lake views here, too!
