This 1920s Subway Car Is Actually A Connecticut Restaurant That Serves Crave-Worthy Pizza
Living in Connecticut we have no shortage of pizza restaurants. From the oldest to the newest pizza places, the famous to the not so well known, each one has its own style when it comes to creating the perfect pie. But if you truly want a special dining experience, try this pizza serving subway car that not only serves fantastic pies, but also has a truly unique atmosphere.

The subway car was originally a hot dog stand located 5 miles away and in the late 1980s, it was moved to its current location on Dudley Avenue. The hot dog stand closed in the 1990s and was left vacant for a few years.

One of the improvements was the installation of a new gas fired brick oven. The oven is used to cook the extra delicious pizzas in this joint.

Inside the restaurant there are original signs and overhead you can see the hand grips where passengers would hold on. There is also an original subway map hanging on the wall.

This pizza serving subway car has also been in the movies. In 2007, Trackside Brick Oven Pizzeria was a primary location for the film "The Haunting of Amelia" aka "The Other Side of the Tracks".

The restaurant has a full list of signature and combination pizzas, but you are always welcome to build your pie one topping at a time until it has exactly what you want on it.

The Lobster Pie, Clams Casino and the Old Fashioned Marinara are other top notch offerings on the pizza menu. Trackside even offers a mashed potato and bacon pizza for those who like to try new flavor combinations.

The menu also has a good selection of wraps, salads, grinders and Italian entrees. They also create some of the best stuffed breads that are the perfect thing to pick up if you are hosting a party.
