Whether you prefer going to our larger cities or our adorable small towns, there’s no shortage of spots that celebrate the season with a bang. We’ve got holiday celebrations like festivals and parades, fun activities that everyone in the family can enjoy, and small shops to find gifts for friends and family. One of our favorite Christmas small towns in Connecticut looks so charming that it could be right out of a Norman Rockwell painting. Collinsville is a little village with a population of under 4,000 that’s famous for its history in axe manufacturing. It also just so happens to be one of the best places to celebrate the holidays in the Nutmeg State.
Collinsville is a charming little village tucked away in Canton. It's a quintessential New England mill town, with plenty of history and a prime location just beside the Farmington River.
As one of the most historic towns in Connecticut, there's a lot to see and do here at any time of year. However, it's particularly magical in the winter!
Christmas in Collinsville is a blast. You'll find plenty of activities all throughout the season, and the whole village gets decked out for the festivities.
The annual Gallery of the Trees event features 140 decorated trees on display at the Canton Historical Museum. In 2022, the trees will be on display from November 20 to December 11.
The first weekend in December is the annual Christmas in Collinsville event. This year's event will take place over two days and is filled with fun and merry-making.
