Love it or hate it, there’s no place like Connecticut. It’s a state that grows on you, and once you’ve lived here it’s hard to leave the nutmegger life behind. Even if you love your new place of residence, Connecticut is sure to cross your mind once or twice. In fact, here are some of the thoughts you’ll probably have:

With its network of scenic roads, driving is relatively peaceful, especially when you take the back roads. Even more congested areas still have rolling hills and lots of trees. Switching to a concrete jungle can be a difficult transition.
Folks tend to think Connecticut weather is a little harsh, with its cold winters and occasional hurricanes. But when they move away, they realize how mild our winters actually are. We also don't have to worry about wildfires, earthquakes, or tornadoes, so you realize pretty quickly how good you had it.
Turns out every small town is not the same. New England's colonial charm is ever present in the small state of Connecticut, and even if you move to another small town in your new state, it just won't be the same.

Let's face it. Taxes are a big reason people leave, especially after retirement. Business is business, but that doesn't mean you won't miss all the good this state has to offer.
So it's not perfect - no state is - but it will always be home.
