The Newly Reopened Mattatuck Museum In Connecticut Is A Weekend Visit Worth Taking
Good news! After a two-year restoration project, the Mattatuck Museum is ready to greet visitors. It’s time to take a weekend day trip and visit an old friend. New collections and exhibits have been added to the museum and the educational program has been extended.

The extra footage includes 1,500 square feet of gallery space, a garden, a rooftop terrace, an expanded shop, a plaza, and a bigger open foyer.

The extensive collection is the perfect place to study and appreciate the history of Waterbury and the state of Connecticut.

Some past and future exhibits include William Kent, Norman Rockwell, Presidential Signatures, and Photographs by Jim Marshall.

The museum continues to expand each part of its art collection to capture the essence and creative imagination of artists from all over the globe.

These include youth programs, yearly traditions, mindfulness classes, and more.
Visiting hours to the museum are Monday to Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Evening hours are available on Thursdays. 20 guests are welcomed in every 15 minutes and guests are encouraged to keep visits to approximately 50-60 minutes in length.
