While Connecticut is full of many different state parks to explore, some are extra special. Lovers Leap State Park in New Milford is home to some of the best nature views in our state, as well as a historic bridge that dates all the way back to 1895. Not only is Lovers Leap one of the most underrated state parks, but this park features vast overlooks of ancient ruins. For a truly historic hike through one of Connecticut’s oldest pieces of land, head to New Milford and visit Lovers Leap State Park right away.
The park is broken up into three different parts that each shine a light on different pieces from history. One of the most important landmarks is the 1895 Berlin Iron Bridge.
Upon the trails, you'll find a huge rock formation that they named the park after. Legend has it that an Indian Chief's daughter plunged to her death off of this formation with her lover.
