When many people think of recreational bodies of water in Connecticut, their minds immediately go to our shoreline. True, we do have quite a bit of coastline and beaches along our shore, but we’re also home to more than 3,000 lakes and ponds that make for amazing spots for those seeking fun in the sun or simply a bit of relaxation. One of our favorite underrated lakes in Connecticut is Winchester Lake in Winchester. The lake spans just under 250 acres and it’s a perfect place for those who feel like a day of fun out on the water. Check it out:
The lake is open for fishing and boating year-round.
There's a speed limit of 8 miles per hour for boats and no water skiing is allowed, which makes this a wonderful place to simply come and collect your thoughts out on the water.
Being out in nature is one of my favorite past times, and I've got to say, the serenity you'll find out on a lake is a particularly great peace you just can't get elsewhere!
