Lisa loves animals and has dogs, rats, cats, guinea pigs, and snakes. She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). We are lucky enough to have some great children’s museums in Connecticut. One of our favorites is the simply-named The Children’s Museum in West Hartford. This place started off more than 100 years ago as a one-room display in Elizabeth Park and has grown substantially over the years. It’s the fifth-oldest children’s museum in the nature and has plenty to offer visitors, including live animals, a planetarium, and even a life-sized sperm whale you can walk inside!
Please note that The Children’s Museum is preparing to move to a different location in late 2022. The eventual home will be just a few blocks away from the current space, but a temporary museum about 70% of the size of the original will be set up in a nearby synagogue.
