When the parks and recreational areas of Connecticut reopen, you’re going to want to get out and explore! If you’re looking for a playground that everyone can enjoy, Jonathan’s Dream is a huge playground in West Hartford, Connecticut, that allows children of all abilities to play freely. This spot is a great place to take the whole family out for a day of fun.
If you're looking for a play area that's full of adventure and fun for children everywhere, then Jonathan's Dream should be right at the top of your list of places to visit.
This huge playground is filled with state of the art equipment. The whole area is designed for children of all abilities so that everyone can have a good time.
The original playground with the same name was opened in 1996, and the whole community joined Amy Barzach and her family to hand build this playground out of wood on the Mandell Jewish Community Center campus.
They wanted to build a playground that would be inclusive to all children. Unfortunately this playground eventually wore down due to weather and heavy use.

The Barzach family and the Mandell Jewish Community Center were undeterred, and went on to build this amazing place that you see today!
Colorful and well designed, the new playground captures kid's imaginations. This park is built to last, so you know that it will be here for your family as your children grow older!
Learn American Sign Language from a board posted in the park, or climb the various bridges to get from one spot to the next. The ground is nice and soft for hard falls, so you don't have to worry.
You can even host your party here, and it's a very popular spot for birthdays.
You'll have to reserve a place if you want to throw a party. It's $125.00 to rent for two hours, and includes the use of two picnic tables in the pavilion. The money goes towards the maintenance of this wonderful playground.
This beautiful playground is usually open from sunrise to sunset.
There are a couple rules, like food and drinks aren't allowed on the play equipment, but are allowed in the pavilion area. And make sure to clean up after yourself, to leave the space tidy for the next child.
This playground has spawned hundreds of playgrounds all around the United States.
"Boundless Playgrounds" is now a nonprofit dedicated to providing an inclusive space for children of all ages and abilities. All because of the very first Jonathan's Dream!
