With 105 Acres Of Undeveloped Land, Connecticut's Horse Guard State Park Is A Wonderful Place To Escape To
Connecticut is home to splendid state parks. Everyone knows about the majestic cascades at Kent Falls State Park and the fascinating history behind Sherwood Island State Park, but there’s one idyllic getaway that remains a bit of a hidden gem. Take a trip to Avon and enjoy the peaceful views of Horse Guard State Park. With 105 acres of undeveloped land, this enchanting park is a wonderful place to escape to.

This state park was named after the First Company Governor's Horse Guards. Established in 1788, they are the oldest active mounted cavalry unit in the United States.

This may be due to the lack of development. In the past 50 years, there haven't been many updates.
