Lisa loves animals and has dogs, rats, cats, guinea pigs, and snakes. She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). We’re the first to recommend year-round hikes. Trekking through the snow, reveling in fall foliage, and dipping into a trail side swimming hole all make for wonderful experiences. However, there’s definitely something special about a springtime hike. Feeling the sun shine down on you and seeing the colors of all the newly blooming flowers is such a delightful experience after the long cold winter. One of the best places to see wildflowers in Connecticut (and one of our favorite spring trails in the state!) is the American Legion Forest’s Henry Buck Trail. This trail is a great option for anyone looking to check out all the beauty of spring in the Nutmeg State.
