Lisa loves animals and has dogs, rats, cats, guinea pigs, and snakes. She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). We love a good hike through the woods or mountains as much as anyone, but there’s something special about a beach hike in Connecticut. Walking on a trail along the water is so peaceful, and there’s nothing like dipping your toes in to cool off. Silver Sands State Park is one of our favorite state parks in the Nutmeg State. This beautiful oasis has a great variety of landscape to keep you intrigued as you meander down the park’s trails. One of our favorites is the easy boardwalk trail right along the water. Check it out:
Please note that dogs are prohibited in much of the park so as to not disturb the wildlife. This is one hike that Fido won’t be able to enjoy with you.
You can learn more about this park from the Connecticut State Parks site.
