This hidden destination is for thrill seekers and nature lovers alike. I’ll give you some hints. It was Paul Newman’s home away from home. It has remained virtually the same since its opening in the spring of 1957. And it changed the face of motorsports in America. Still don’t know? Then let me tell you!
Lime Rock Park is a hidden racetrack in Lakeville.
It's normal for passersby to wander in after hearing the sound of revving engines. But state locals are well aware that this place exists. It may not be everybody's cup of tea, but you can't deny that it's pretty cool. Connecticut is probably the last place you'd expect to find a racetrack, but the truth is this place is a historical gem!
It's one of the longest continuously operating racing circuits in America.
Host of the 1959 Formula Libre event, Lime Rock Park is what made road racing a significant element of the American sporting scene. So NASCAR can thank us for their success! Nearly all of the greats have raced here, but that doesn't mean it's closed to the public. In fact, it's quite the opposite!
Folks flock here for the various driving events and festivals that are hosted here. While you will need to purchase a ticket for official races, you're free to watch practices. The one-and-a-half-mile track appears simple, but it's actually very difficult to navigate at top speeds. This scenic spot is extremely fan friendly, and great even for those just looking to peruse a scenic locale.

Lime Rock is unique and cannot be compared to any other track, or park. So if you want to try something new, do as the locals do and pay a visit to this thrilling historical destination in a picturesque setting!
