Lisa loves animals and has dogs, rats, cats, guinea pigs, and snakes. She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). Looking for a peaceful hidden gem in Connecticut? The Harry C. Barnes Memorial Nature Center is a fantastic and educational community center in Bristol. There’s an on-site Visitor Center open seasonally that provides information about plants and animals that populate our great state. The 70-acre center also features miles of hiking trails that are accessible year-round from dawn to dusk. Throughout the year, the center hosts a variety of classes and informational lectures. This is such a great family activity in Connecticut that is one of our most underrated attractions.
