Don't Drive On These Haunted Streets In Connecticut Or You May Regret It
It’s no surprise that a state as old as Connecticut is home to a number of paranormal happenings. But did you know we even have haunted streets? Those who dare to traverse these roads report strange noises, ghostly orbs, and even mellon heads. Are you brave enough for a night drive down these streets?

The scariest stretch of this road runs parallel the Means Brook Reservoir. People have reported shadowy figures darting from tree to tree, with increased reports during warmer days. Some say the spirits may try and spook you as you come around a bend. So be wary on this curvy road!

You will need to get permission from the water company before entering this abandoned stretch of road. The road connects Hamden to Bethany, but for some reason, was never paved and was then eventually closed off. People report strange apparitions and tree rustling.

Also known as Dracula Drive, it's rumored that a group of patients from a nearby mental hospital escaped and now live in the surrounding woods. It's a straight path with private drives so you can't venture into the woods, which is probably for the best. Strange things are lurking out there.

This road, along with the pond of the same name, are said to be haunted by the spirit of a murdered girl named Maude. The truth behind the name is that it's a no good spot for farming, but then who do people hear screaming out?

Home to one of the most documented hauntings in state history, this street garnered a lot of attention in 1974. The poltergeist like situation had reputable witnesses, including police officers. Eventually, the daughter of the affected family admitted it was a hoax, but many of the events could not be explained, causing some to believe her confession was part of an elaborate cover up.

This charming road cuts through wide open fields and gorgeous estates, but it's also home to a ghost. Legend has it that the ghost of a woman left at the altar appears on this road, soaking wet from having drowned herself. She appears in the road, but disappears when you pass her.
If abandoned places are more your speed, skip the haunted streets and head straight to the forgotten attractions on this Abandoned Road Trip. Share photos of your adventure with us on Instagram @onlyinconnecticut to have them featured.
