Connecticut has many amazing attractions, but did you know there is a garden railroad nestled away in one of our most popular parks? Model trains ride the rails through a gorgeous setting enchanting both the young and young-at-heart. If you haven’t seen this unique garden yet, you are going to want to plan a visit this spring.
There are 25 acres of incredibly beautiful gardens housed inside the 250-acre Wickham Park in Manchester.
There are a variety of plants, statuary, water elements, and design styles found within the scenic gardens. It's like taking a walk through a beautiful fairytale.
The sensory garden occupies 3/4 of an acre in the gardens and is divided into six sections each of which is dedicated to one of the five senses plus the sixth sense of imagination.
The trains make their way through the garden traversing a bridge, chugging through a tunnel, and moving through the picturesque setting. The railroad operates on weekends from noon until 2:00 p.m.
The Park is located at 1329 Middle Tpke. W., Manchester, CT. There is a $5 fee for parking on weekdays and $7 parking charge on weekends.
