Looking for options for great family attractions in Connecticut? We have plenty of museums, shops, and more, but it doesn’t get much better than a visit to a park. We have 139 state forests and state parks in Connecticut, so there’s a lot to explore! One of our favorites is Chatfield Hollow State Park. This 412-acre natural wonderland is absolutely stunning, and you’ll find plenty to entertain adults and children alike. Lace up your hiking boots and head through the park’s many trails. Pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic by Schreeder Pond. Dip your toes in the sand on the beach. There are a virtually endless array of options here!

You'll find about 20 miles of hiking trails here. There are wooded paths of varying difficulties, plus a boardwalk that allows you to cross over a swamp.
