Many newcomers to the Nutmeg State are surprised at just how many state forests and state parks we have within our borders: 139, to be exact. Because there are so many of them, it goes without saying that some will fall through the cracks and not get quite as much attention as others. Yes, Kent Falls and Hammonasset Beach are amazing, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of other parks worth checking out. One of our favorite underrated state parks in Connecticut is Campbell Falls State Park. This little park is undeveloped and lacks the amenities of many larger parks, but it has so much beauty to offer. Check it out:
