I’m a big fan of urban parks – I feel like they don’t get nearly enough love. We have a lot of state parks in Connecticut, and many of them are quite remote and perfect for when you want to immerse yourself in hundreds of acres of nature. However, skipping out on our many city parks in the Nutmeg State is a huge mistake. These spots may lack the sprawling size of many of our state parks, but that doesn’t mean they’re not worthy of an adventure in their own way. It can be so magical to escape from a metropolitan area and immerse yourself in a park without even leaving the city. One of our favorite urban parks in Connecticut is Cove Island Park in Stamford, CT. This may be one of the largest cities in the state, but the Cove Island Park Loop Trail is the perfect way to enjoy a touch of the natural world right inside the city. Check it out:
