The Unique Town In Connecticut That's Anything But Ordinary

If you thought Connecticut didn’t have earthquakes, think again. This tiny town in Connecticut is putting that rumor to rest, and it’s pretty bizarre. So, if you love hauntings and folklore, you’ll definitely want to take a stroll over to Moodus and see if you can experience one of these earthquakes for yourself.

It still drips with New England charm, and is mostly quiet, except for the rumbling and crashing noises that come from the nearby woods. What residents describe as thunder and explosions is actually earthquakes!

But you can't pray away a cluster of seismic activity. Eventually, the sounds they once described as the devil screaming became normal, and Noises became the high school mascot. To the residents it's a part of life, but to scientists it's a bit of a phenomenon. Whether you believe the science or the folklore, the noises make this one of the weirdest towns around.
