She is passionate about animal rescue and live music - traveling across the country to see a favorite band is a pretty regular occurrence! Being out hiking in the woods enjoying the scenery with her beloved dogs is another favorite hobby, and also checking out the Pokemon Go scene in whatever city she happens to be in at any given time (coffee and dog leash in hand). Towns in northern Connecticut tend to be somewhat underrated. People often visit our beach cities, and you’ll find no shortage of great attractions towards the middle of the state and the coast. We think it’s unfair that the northern part of the state doesn’t get much respect. The Quiet Corner is a wonderful destination right in the northeast corner of the state, but even towards the north-central regions, you can find some great towns. One of our favorites is Windsor, which is only about 15 miles from the state line with Massachusetts. This town was the first English settlement in Connecticut, so it’s got plenty of historical attractions, and you’ll also find lots of natural beauty, boutique shops, and restaurants. The greater Windsor area includes Windsor Locks and East Windsor, and you can easily plan a weekend trip to the area.
