This Incredible New Train Just Made Exploring Connecticut Much Easier

The long-awaited CTrail Hartford Line now has trains running between New Haven and Springfield making it much easier to explore the interior of Connecticut. Using the rail system is a cost-effective way to start visiting many of our wonderful attractions. Climb aboard this incredible train and start your next adventure.
Buy your tickets at a CTrail Hartford Line vending machine. Purchase a one-way ticket from New Haven to Springfield for $12.75. Tickets from New Haven to Hartford are $8 and the cost is $6 to travel between Hartford and Springfield.
If you buy your tickets on board the train, the cost increases by $3. Children under five-years-old can ride the rails for free, while up to four children 5 to 11 years old if accompanied by a fare-paying adult can ride for just $1 each. This makes family trips affordable and fun. Riders over 65 or those who are disabled can take advantage of half-price fares.
The Hartford Line has stops in New Haven, Wallingford, Meriden, Berlin, Hartford, Windsor, Windsor Locks, and Springfield.
Plans for construction of additional stations in North Haven, Newington, West Hartford, and Enfield are underway making it even easier to catch a train.
The ride between Springfield and New Haven will take around 1 hour and 20 minutes. The commute between Hartford and New Haven will be a 45 minute ride.

If you want to see the Big Apple, catch a Metro North train bound for New York at Union Station in New Haven.
During the week, trains will run the Hartford Line every 30 minutes during peak hours and every hour for the rest of the day. On weekends, you'll find slightly fewer trains traveling on the line.
