When you are looking for a day trip that includes visiting animals, more often than not you will immediately think of the popular Beardsley Zoo or Action Wildlife Foundation. But there are other locations to get close to your favorite animals in the Nutmeg State. Today’s feature is a Connecticut animal park that has plenty of furry and feathered friends to make for a perfect day trip.
Many know Silverman's Farm in Easton for its pick your own fruit, country market, and fall festivals. But the farm also has a thriving 5-acre animal park where you can feed and pet the animals all day long.
The animal park is home to a group of goats that just love to kid around. Watch them climb on the rocks and the wooden goat walk as they play throughout the day.
The animals at Silverman's Farm can only eat food provided by their caretakers. Food is available for purchase at vending machines in the park if you want to give some of your new found friends a treat.
On Thanksgiving Day the hours of the farm are limited, Christmas Day the farm is closed, and from January 1st - early spring, the farm is also closed.
