Connecticut is full of fantastic hikes. From easy one-mile loops to lengthier excursions, our trails are brimming with sights to see. Just a few weeks ago, we shared with you a fascinating hike that leads to an abandoned village. Today we’re going to embark on an adventure that takes you above the treetops. While this hike can pack a little punch, the effort is well worth the views you’ll be treated to at Chauncey Peak overlook.
Giuffrida Park in Meriden is home to a beautiful reservoir, lovely wetland meadow, and hiking trails to today's destination, Chauncey Peak.
As you begin your journey, the flat wide path cuts through a towering forest alongside the reservoir. You'll feel like a dwarf wandering through this wooded setting.
The 2.2-mile trail will become more challenging as you proceed. Expect elevation gains, roots, and rocks. Lace up your hiking boots or sneakers for this hike.
To hike to Chauncey Peak overlook, you'll want to start at Giuffrida Park which is open from sunrise to sunset daily. Address: 500 Westfield Road, Meriden, CT, 06450
