Chakana Sky's herd is fairly small, so the products are actually made from fibers that came from alpacas all over New England. The New England Alpaca Fiber Pool in Massachusetts combines fibers from many small farms to send to clothing manufacturers. The manufacturers then sell the products through local farm stores like Chakana Sky's.

However, crafters can purchase yarn from Chakana Sky right after seeing the animal that produced it. Another local alpaca farm processes their fiber into yarn and rug bumps, which are then sold in the store.
