Case Mountain in Manchester is a bit of a hidden gem. While locals may know it exists, it rarely pops up in search results for hiking spots. Maybe Manchester doesn’t strike people as a place that would have a natural oasis, or maybe this place gets overshadowed by Talcott Mountain. Whatever the reason, we’re going to shed some light on this destination because it might be your new favorite place!
Case Mountain is located on Spring Street in Manchester.
The 640-acre retreat has parking just off the road, with a sign to help direct you. While there are multiple entrances, this one is certainly the easiest to navigate. There are a number of trails, totaling 10 miles, which means there are some quick and easy ones for the beginners.
Among the treasures hidden inside is an urban waterfall.
Purchased by the town nearly a decade ago, you'll be treading on historic grounds. At its peak it hosted fancy parties, but now it's just cool to look at. The waterfront property has some accompanying nearby structures as well, including a large shed.

Case Pond offers a quiet retreat, with plenty of large stones and grass for sitting.
If you're planning to picnic on this adventure, this could definitely be the spot! It's also perfect for light recreation, like frisbee. But please no fishing!

The flat open space resembles a plain surrounded by trees, with one lone tree at the center. This is a great spot for a stretch and a photographer's dream in autumn. You have to check it out!
