We certainly don’t have any difficulty finding great things to do in winter in Connecticut – the state is simply bursting with fun holiday activities, artisan markets, light displays, and so much more. We have a lot of great Christmas towns in Connecticut, in particular. Festivals, parades, and decorations all combine to make this the most magical time of the year, and if you’re looking for the perfect city to celebrate it in, you just might want to check out Hartford, CT. The state’s capital city gets a bad rap, and sure, it is filled with a lot of insurance companies and other boring businesses. But it’s also got a ton of fun things to do: especially if you visit around the holidays!

Winterfest Hartford offers up free ice skating in Connecticut, as well as lessons for those who don't already know how to ice skate.
Nothing gets me into the holiday spirit more than checking out Christmas lights, and Glow Hartford is one of the best Christmas light displays in Connecticut.
