We expect to find great seafood spots along our coast and no doubt there are plenty of them in Connecticut. But did you know there is a beachy restaurant hiding in the northern part of our state? This little eatery is certainly land-locked but its quirky atmosphere resonates seaside charm. The food is just what you’d expect to find at the beach and this diamond in the rough serves some flavor-packed crab cakes and other delicious summery menu items.
Blue Sky Foods is an unassuming little restaurant on Main Street in New Hartford.
This seasonal beachy restaurant has served summertime eats for 25 seasons in their blue roadside cottage.
The quirky decor has a bit of tropical flair with colorful table coverings and seat cushions on wood deck chairs. The condiments are housed in bright sand pails at each table.
There's no shortage of eye-catching material to gaze at on the walls and ceilings. Album covers, posters, and even business cards all have a home here.
Enjoy your meal out on the patio for a true picnic-like experience.
Get started with a warm cheesy plate of chili fries. The menu also has a mouthwatering selection of homemade soups.
Fried seafood is no stranger to this little eatery, you'll find crispy oysters, clams, and fish served with a smile.
It's difficult to find a decent crab cake in New England, but this beachy restaurant has you covered. The flaky crab meat is sweet and flavorful and then fried to perfection. Choose them plain or on a bun.
