However, the most colorful summer celebration in the state is the Plainville Fire Company Hot Air Balloon Festival. This three-day event is slated to take place in August and features a fabulous nighttime show of fireworks and a hot air balloon glow.

In its 35th year, the Plainville Fire Company Hot Air Balloon Festival will fill the sky with color August 23-25, 2019.

The annual celebration held at Norton Park is fun for the whole family and it's FREE! Enjoy live music, craft vendors, a classic car show, and, of course, dozens of hot air balloons.

The festivities will kick off Friday night with a hot air balloon glow. The tethered balloons will be inflated and show off their colors against the night sky.
