Norfolk is known as the music capitol of northwest Connecticut. Catch a show at the historic Infinity Hall where famous folk, rock, and jazz musicians perform year round. Stroll the downtown area for beautiful architecture from the 18th and 19th century.
Although technically a city, New Haven has earned its place on this list. This cultural center has museums, galleries, and theaters so numerous that it would take weeks to experience everything. The busy city is also home to the Jazz Festival and the International Festival of Art and Ideas.
Chester is the epitome of a charming small town. Many artists have taken up residence here enjoying the picturesque surroundings. Meander downtown through the bustling little center of quaint shops, galleries, and restaurants.
Situated in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains, Ridgefield has its own artist's guild. You'll also find museums, a historic playhouse featuring live shows, a theater barn, and even a whimsical art garden.
You'll find a theatrical atmosphere in East Haddam. Take in a show at the Goodspeed Opera House to be completely submersed in the magic of a live performance. Take a trip to nearby Gillette Castle and tour this late actor William Gillette's tribute to Sherlock Holmes.
Most recognizable for its covered bridge, Cornwall is also home to some unique craftspeople. Within its three village centers you can browse through shops enjoying locally made pottery and gifts.
