Tucked away in the coastal town of Guilford, Bishop's Orchards was established in 1871. Over the decades, the farm has expanded to become a first-rate location for a family outing.
During apple-picking season (late August - late October) the trees are loaded with fruit ready to be harvested. With 20 different varieties, you can pick apples for snacking, baking, or cooking.
Even the kids will love heading out into the fields to get in on the action. On weekends, a tractor-pulled trailer will give you a free ride.
If you want to do things the easier way, the farm market is fully stocked. Pluck the apples you want from the vibrant fruit display.
The market is full of tasty surprises. Find a full line of fresh produce, cheese, meat, and more. While you're there, let your nose lead you straight to the bakery too!
Apple picking season just isn't complete without the taste of scrumptious apple cider donuts. Bishop's Orchards is a seasoned expert at making these traditional fall treats.
You'll need some apple cider to wash down those delicious donuts. The orchard presses 70,000 gallons each year making for very happy customers.
Adults can also visit the farm winery for a little taste of hard cider or wine.
Finish up your visit with a refreshing scoop (or two) of ice cream at the newly opened creamery. Enjoy your cone on the open-air patio and soak in the sunshine and crisp fall air.
