This Secret Speakeasy In Colorado Is Hard To Find... But Totally Worth It
If I had to pick one thing that Coloradans are the best at doing, I would have to say it’s making a great beer (and hiking and playing football, but we will save those topics for another day). While the Centennial State is home to a number of stellar bars and breweries in which to drink said local beer, this one Denver speakeasy — which makes you feel like you are in on an epic secret — may just be the coolest place of them all:
Located in Denver’s trendy Highlands neighborhood is that of the Williams & Graham Booksellers; a small and charming bookstore that sells both new releases and some of your favorite classics. Okay, this is a lie… the “Booksellers” part of Williams & Graham is actually a front, as this Highlands’ establishment is indeed a restaurant and bar! Named the “Best Cocktail Bar in America” by Tales of the Cocktail and one of Thrillist’s “21 Best Secret Bars in the World,” Williams & Graham features an impressive and decadent menu of hors d’oeuvres and entrées, as well as an extensive menu of drinks guaranteed to satisfy even the pickiest of palates. While you are sipping your cocktail or munching on a plate of Roasted Bone Marrow, have a look around at all of the restaurant’s intricate details, which will make you think you have traveled back in time to the period of the speakeasy.
Williams & Graham is located at 3160 Tejon St in Denver and is open daily from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. For more information — or to reserve a table — please visit Williams & Graham’s website.
