I have a thing for unique homes…My husband is all about cookie-cutter, where everything in the neighborhood looks exactly the same–but I like a house unique house that stands out from the crowd. That being said, these 6 unique Colorado homes are right up my alley! (Err, street.)
1.) Swetsville Zoo (Fort Collins)
How many people can say they actually live in a castle?! Bill Swets, home owner and designer, can! In addition to the unique home, the grounds boast impressive sculptures made from car parts, farm machinery, and scrap metal.
2.) Sculptured House (Genesee Mountain)
Also known as "Spaceship" or "Sleeper" House, the Sculptured House is one of the most recognizable homes in the state because of its unique architecture (and starring role in Woody Allen's "Sleeper.")
3.) McHugh-Andrews House (Fort Collins)
The Queen Anne style home is two-and-a-half stories high and is made of red and tan stone.
4.) Rocky Mountain TreeHouse (Glenwood Springs)
Puts your old, childhood treehouse to shame, doesn't it? Built in 1971, the TreeHouse is attached to 4 spruce trees with a rock staircase leading to the front door.
5.) Bishop Castle (Antonino)
What started as a small home construction project quickly turned into the 160 ft. stone masterpiece.
6.) Earthship Homes
I know I said I like a unique home, but the earthship style might be a *little* too unique for me. The pictured sustainable, eco-friendly home is located in Black Forest.
What do you think? Could you live in any of these homes?
