Everyone knows about Colorado’s iconic cities and world-famous mountain towns (a la Aspen, Telluride, etc.), but did you know that the Centennial State is also chock-full of must-see tiny towns? While there are too many to name, there is one in particular that stands out as a must-visit, which is the community of Green Mountain Falls, home to the delicious Pantry Restaurant:
Located 11 miles west of Colorado Springs along Highway 24, Green Mountain Falls boasts a population of just over 700 residents plus the incredible scenery that you have come to expect from the area!
Sitting at an elevation of about 7,800 feet, there are not only plenty of outdoor recreational opportunities around Green Mountain Falls but also delicious restaurants like the Pantry.
Opened in the early 1950s, the Pantry began as a famous bakery but quickly transformed into a full-blown restaurant, thanks to a new grill and a building expansion.
When you visit today, you will find plenty of things to love about the Pantry, beginning with hearty breakfasts like homemade biscuits and gravy, omelets, pancakes, and cinnamon rolls the size of a small child.
Do you have the appetite of a college linebacker? Then you will want to take advantage of their Cowboy Breakfast Buffet, which takes place on weekends in the summer and includes everything from bacon and sausage to burritos to southern-style skillet potatoes and so much more.
Not a morning person? Not a problem, as the Pantry also serves all of your favorite lunch items, like sandwiches, made-from-scratch chicken fried steak, burgers, and even old-fashioned pot roast.
