After college, she chose to trade in her winter boots for slippahs and moved to the beautiful island of Oahu, where she has been living for more than five years. She loves hiking, snorkeling, locally-grown coffee, and finding the best acai bowl on Oahu.
While you will find scrumptious restaurants across the state of Colorado — both brand new and decades-old — here at Only In Colorado, there’s little we love more than an old-fashioned eatery that serves up classic American food in a cozy atmosphere. Today, we’re excited to share this old-school restaurant that we just can’t get enough of. Let’s take a look, shall we?
With a population of 640, almost everything about the town of Green Mountain Falls will remind you of a simpler time, but it’s when you walk into The Pantry that you will truly be transported to another era.
The friendly staff will welcome you with open arms and the casual, old-fashioned atmosphere will make you feel right at home. You'll want to spend some time checking out the old-fashioned collectibles line the walls.
During the cold winter months, warm up with a cup of coffee. Visit again during the summer, when the backyard creekside dining area is open to enjoy a little fresh air on a sunny day. From June through August, you can also enjoy live entertainment, a full bar, and a breakfast buffet outdoors on Saturdays and Sundays.
With biscuits and gravy, omelets, eggs benedict, breakfast burritos, pancakes, and cinnamon roll French toast on the menu, The Pantry is packed with all of our breakfast favorites.
At lunchtime, burgers and sandwiches are the stars of the show. The green chili and bison burgers are scrumptious, as are the chicken, turkey, and roast beef sandwiches. If you’re looking for something a little lighter, you’ll also find a variety of soups and salads on the menu.
So, what are you waiting for? The next time you're traveling from Denver to Colorado Springs, take a detour along Highway 24 to check out The Pantry. Your taste buds will thank you.
The Pantry is located at 6980 Lake St., Green Mountain Falls, CO 80819, and is open daily for breakfast and lunch from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. For more information, visit their website.
